This is my final Meat Cow.
I chose a meat cow because they are killed all over the US to be used in fast food restaurants each day, so this is kind of a representation of a meat cow and the background represents the colors of fast food restaurants. My strengths would probably be the texture of the hair and ears. I also really liked how I did the eyes as well. My weakness was matching the the color of a meat cow to what i was painting because I ended up making it a few shades too grey. A problem that came up during my project was definitely not making enough of each color so I would have to repaint the entire section or else the colors wouldn't match. My solution was to make a lot of the color I needed in the first place so I wouldn't have to keep restarting. Things I would change or make better would be the background. I think I should have spent a little more time at the end to touch up on the red and yellow. I might also should have added the ear tag on to the cow to make it look more like a meat cow.
This is my final linoleum.
My strengths were probably using a lot of color in the prints. My weaknesses were not very well aligning all the pieces of linoleum together and maybe making some parts of the carving to detailed and very hard to align. Some problems that came up as I printed were not lignin up the prints evenly on the paper, getting the white paper full of paint from my hands and also smudging the prints because I wouldn't press down exactly on top of the linoleum. My solution to not aligning well was to was the block of linoleum clean and dry and then place it on the paper and mark down were it needs to be so that it is straight and in the center. For not keeping my paper white, I tried to pay more attention to how much paint was on my hands and make sure they were clean before I touched the paper. Finally, to prevent smudging I payed more attention to the angle at which I was pressing down. If I were to redo the project I would probably try to make more prints then I did because I only really got 3 ok ones.
This is my final Zap-Ems.
My strengths were definitely the words "Zap Ems" because I feel like I did a pretty good job getting the right shapes of each letter as well as the shading. I think I also did a good job with the background, green lightning bolt and the words "Pepperoni Pizza". My weakness was probably making the pizza realistic. That was really probably the hardest part because on the box it looks so taste and crisp and mine, not so much. My biggest problem that came up was the dark blue part of the background that became to dark but I fixed it by creating a line on the side in lighter blue so you could distinguish the edges of the box. If I could change something on this project it would be the bottom left corner that has "270 calories/10g protein" I could have made that better for sure.
